Wake Up People | Thought Puke 1 | Diversions Ahead

With the sequence of incidents, slowly you are made to believe, whenever bigger issue arises, all of a sudden another issue over gender, caste, religion or an issue capable of pulling people's interest have been popped up, keeps people busy and makes the bigger issue negligible to the people's eye.

Full respect to people coming out with their #MeToo, be it happened yesterday or decades ago, sexual harassment has to be punished. At the same time just because an allegation made, without knowing the truth, don't pass comments. Let the people who involved deal their problems through law. MJ Akbar resignation is the first stone put in this long road. As an outsider don't give too much focus on one particular issue alone, because we are surrounded by lot of mess.

We are not living in a country with nil problem. According to United Nations, our country ranks 133/155 in World Happiness Report and 130/188 in Human Development Index, to remind everyone we are living with much bigger problems. If you are okay with the fact that, we are ahead of few countries and consider ourselves in better position, what's better to you is worse. Don't worry, the day isn't too far to be worst. 

When you have better governance, there'll be no room for problems like #MeToo and others what we're facing right now. To have better governance, People, we have to wake up, should know for what we have to stand united and fight for. With the parliament elections are around the corner, expect more diversions. Just don't go behind what put in front of you, divert yourself from diversion.

So, Wake Up People.

Other than, not selling my vote for money, I haven't done a thing for betterment of society. Still, with my little knowledge, I have analysed, got confused over things, understood everyone here is for their own gain and want my understanding to be wrong. It's for one of the successful startups in India for the post - Social Media Manager. They have asked person with two years experience. That was the time, where I haven't got reply for any of the jobs I applied. In that mindset, I applied for the job without bothering experience as if they would reply for my application.

After few days, I got a screening mail from the company with the tasks list. They asked me to complete the given tasks and reply within two days. I did the same.

Later I got a call from the company for the telephonic interview; everything went well till that question popped up.

"What's your current CTC?”

I told them "I'm a fresher, 2018 MBA graduate, you can check the resume I sent"

"Okay, I'll check and call you later" HR said. Though not a voice expert, I could sense surprise in HR's voice.

Still I was satisfied and consoled myself saying if not for lack of experience, I would have got the job.

One of the tasks given by the company is to write an article about the picture they shared. They gave two pictures - out of which I have to choose one and write article. Of late, I wasn't writing much and when I completed the article, I wanted to share with everyone through my blog.

Here's the article:

“Peace” he said.

“Where you find that?” his colleague asked.

Time is 1 AM. Two colleagues are walking in the road, to have a cup of coffee in between their night shift work.

“I joined the company just two weeks before, I started feeling more occupied and it's just been two weeks” his colleague continued.

“In office, you have to search peace. It depends upon the project you’re put in. But, in your home you can create peace” he said.

“So, you’re married or what?”

“Brother, why should I come to night shift if I’m married?”

Both laughed.

“I’m staying in my apartment, monthly once either my parents visit me or I go to my hometown and visit them” he said.

“Staying Alone? I have read stress is one of the side effects of staying alone.”

“I agree. You’re in the office for 8 hours, maximum 10 hours. Remaining 14-16 hours you have to spend in your home. It lies in your hands to make your place heaven or hell”

“How you find peace in your home?” newly joined colleague continued his questions.

“Inside the house, paint with your favourite colour. At least paint in hall and bedroom. Keep your place decorated. Psychologically, when you see the things you like, your mind relaxes.”

“Tell me more” his colleague asked enthusiastic

“It is all about peace. My favourite colour is White. I had painted my doors, walls inside my hall and bedroom in white colour, where I spend more time. In my hall I have kept reading lamp which is also white in colour. Gardening is my hobby. Near the lamp, I have a table with plantlets in pots which are decorated with glass cubical. Finally, there’s my yellow coloured cushioned chair with tiny pillow. Yellow is a colour of happiness and a pillow to cuddle and first to share my thoughts. At the end of the day, when I reach home, first thing I search for is my chair and a pillow where I relax my mind. Peace has to be created by thyself, in this big world.” he briefed about his peaceful world

“Can I see a picture of your hall?”

“Sure brother.” he said and opened his phone.

He opened a pic and showed it to his peace searching newly joined colleague.

Sachin A Billion Dreams - a time machine

For a kind of person, who bought all newspapers available in town just to cut off Sachin’s picture and paste in a notebook and preserving the book as a treasure, who spend his spare time by watching Sachin’s old matches in Youtube, who watches IPL just to see the glimpse moments of Sachin in MI’s dugout, this “SACHIN : A Billion Dreams” is a world’s yummiest cake frosting with the world’s tastiest cherry.

I was never fully convinced, when government instructed all theaters to play National Anthem before playing the movie. Whenever I went to theaters, I stand for National Anthem without any relevance and purpose. Honestly I confess, I wasn’t that patriotic when I stood for National anthem in theaters, mean whileI used to check whether everyone was standing or not. This time, the case is different. I can feel the patriotism all of a sudden, a kind of unique feel, sense of proudness – Goosebumps!

All these years, in my life, I have never gone for theater alone. I used to go with my family, relatives and friends. Never alone! This time, I asked my busiest friends to join me, few were reluctant and rest were available on Sunday. If it’s any other movie, I might get compromise. The experience was a like, watching a cricket match in a stadium. The moment when the clips of Sachin getting 200 runs came, the audience went crazy. It was like, myself sitting in Gwalior and cheering. This was one such instance. Without time machine, I traveled back to Shivaji Park, Karachi, Sharjah, Perth, Centurion, our own M.A.Chidambaram, Wankhade and watched Sachin playing. One of my dreams which I thought I can’t tick in checkbox is watching Sachin playing in the stadium. But now, I can console myself.

We want to know, how our super hero would have thought when he face problems, criticism. At the least, we love to read in articles. How the feel will be, when you got to know, what was in your super hero’s mind – in which most part of them were describing by the man himself. I have a feeling that, I'm beating around the bush with loss of words. May be yet to return to present. It’s all together, totally a different film with Vera-level feeling.

I keep disappointing myself by not writing, for last few months. Be it my days as a Soft skill trainer, days when I was idle at home, MBA days, Vardha Puyal, TN Political Attrocities, Jallikattu, about my trips to Pondicherry, Yercaud, Vedanthangal, Munnar, Wayanad, of late Rajnikanth’s fan meet and many more.  Somehow, few getting postponed and I dropped few as it got expired to showcase. I don’t want that happen this time. 

This is for the very special character, I brought into my life – S A C H I N. I'm not sure about the second part of the previous sentence, I still have the doubt, whether I brought him in my life or he marched himself into my life, but he’s big part of my life – no doubt in that. If you have read, very special character – I literally mean – VERY SPECIAL – Zero Level Exaggeration.

Learn from life

“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford.

In life, to be a better professional you have to learn few things, the same applies also to be a better person. Life will teach us everything; it’s about reminding others what they fail to see.  We have to start learning from life one by one. In Social Media life, there are several applications to increase the likes, followers. In real life, it’s not that easy to influence, inspire people and converting them as followers.It may take a long time to develop those qualities in our life, before that it just take a matter of time to think. Only if we think, we can implement and lead a quality life. So, let us start to think with one of the basic quality which we need to develop as a good human being.

Appreciation - It’s a giving thing. People may ask money, gold, food, water from others but never appreciation, instead they yearn for it.

Think of the moments when you appreciate your mother’s food, father’s smartness, sibling’s work – why can’t we try this out with other people. Somehow, we fail to appreciate others when they do commendable job.

When a baby fell down while trying to walk, you got to appreciate its effort. Rather if you scold and threatened the baby for trying, it will never walk. On the contrary, if you appreciate when someone does evil, he’ll continue to do more. We need to know when to appreciate.  If we appreciate for everyone for everything then there will be no value for appreciation.

There were lot of speculation regarding the dislike button in facebook. Though Mark rolled out various reaction buttons, he didn’t introduce the dislike button. The reason given by Facebook was they didn’t want to limit user’s reaction to just simple “dislike”. Think in this perspective, when we share a post, if we get dislikes more than likes, psychologically we will reduce the number posts we share. At one point of time, we may stop posting in facebook. What if everyone has this fear and slowly Facebook turn to another Orkut. Mark may doesn’t want a single button, which depreciate people, to reduce his profit.

Makes sense right ?

On World Kidney Day, the organisation where I worked earlier conducted a free kidney check-up camp. Few volunteers from a hospital came and conducted the check-up. At the end of the day, those volunteers were waiting for their bus to return. In that time, myself along with my manager passed them. Suddenly, my manager stopped, went to them and said “You guys did a wonderful job. Thank you.” After wishing them, he left. I stood there and saw the smile in their face, which I think is priceless.

I didn’t appreciate them in first place.  Thus, it mean I don’t know about appreciation before? I knew about appreciation. Simple, I just forgot. This is the lesson life reminded me to appreciate people, if they do commendable work. In professional life, this will help us to have better relationship with our peers, sub-ordinates and also to maintain the co-ordination among employees and in personal life, it will keep you surrounded by your well wishers.

Develop the quality of Appreciation by appreciating me for reminding you about Appreciation. I do yearn for Appreciation. Human, right?

Jokes apart, take a moment to appreciate when people do good work, which we couldn’t do. It will just take a matter of time to apply in our life.

The Voices

For past few days, I often hear two voices having a conversation. The voices found familiar, but I couldn’t recognize those.

This morning, after having breakfast, I went to continue my sleep. When I lay down, I heard those voices again. I went out of my home and searched, I couldn’t  find anyone. Then, I checked my neighbor’s house, there too no sign of people. I didn’t hear those voices now. So, I went to bed again.

The moment I close my eyes, I heard those voices again. I stepped out of my bed and the voices were stopped. I lay down and after few seconds, I heard those voices again.

I recalled the times and realized whenever I was idle I heard those voices.  Slowly, I recognized from where those were coming – inside me.

I keenly started listening to those voices.

Voice 1 – Hey, I have never seen a fool like him. Now only, he recognized us.

Voice 2 – He may have few problems, Who knows ?

Voice 1 – Who doesn’t has problems ? It's because, in recent days, he rarely uses his brain.

Voice 2 – But he always listens to his heart.

Voice 1 – Only  a loser does that.  If you have Reset or Recovery button, the problems will vanish in a minute and everything will be perfect as new one.

Voice 2 – It may be wise for Human Made devices, not for Human. Human life is filled emotions, feelings, you can’t just erase everything.

Voice 1 – Even while resetting the devices, there are possible chances to lose valuable things. You have to sacrifice few things to live better than ever.

Voice 2 – There’s no backup option in life as in those devices.

Voice 1 – Note down one thing, In few years Human will create a device to manage our memories. In that way, men will be the better creator than God.

Voice  2 - God knew what’s correct for his children. If he feels, it’s time, he’ll destroy the whole world once again and reset it.

Voice 1 - Nice Joke. also, share your opinion on Big Bang Theory.

Voice 2 – I don’t want to argue about the existence of god with you.

Voice 1 -  Even me.

Voice 2 – Shall we ask him to post about this on the blog and ask his readers opinion.

Voice 1 – Oh yes, millions are waiting for his blog. As soon as he post, he’ll get instant responses.

Voice 2 – Why are you so huffy on him ?

Voice 1 – He himself a lazy goose and ..

“Enough” I shouted at Voice 1.

OMG! If I was idle, even my so-called thoughts were not giving respect, then how can I expect it from others.

I came outside from my room and saw my mother cleaning the house.

I went near to her and told “Mom, give the mop, let me clean the house”

My mom was surprised and said “ Really ?”. I smiled. She got relieved, handed over the mop to me and went kitchen to do her culinary works.

I decided never to be idle hereafter and cleaned the house, by thinking “What Voice 1 was about to say after “and” ?”

Inspire

Feelings.

We can’t set up few words and say this is the definition of feelings. It varies in smithereens depending on people.  In that, Friendship is more about inspiring others than having fun.

I see two things. One is being friendly with everyone, another is being a friend to few.

In brief, if you are smiling at an unknown person, it’s being friendly. A person is asking you for an aid and if you feel reluctant for a second, it’s enough to understand you are being friendly with that person, not as a friend. You have given that person an enough space to ask you a help. Unfortunately, you didn’t make that in your heart and mind. It’s 100% normal.

On the contrary, if you didn’t mind for a second to help, even if you didn’t help that person, then you are living as a good friend to that person. I want to make one thing clear, I’m not saying about rendering a help but the intention to do. We can be friendly to anyone, but not as a friend to all.

I believe in a fact, “the best friendships tend to be with the people in which you can openly be weird with”

While writing about this, I was thinking about how friendships would began. I have heard of many reasons on how two people became friends.

“We are born to be friends”, “We itself don’t know”,

 “It simply happened”,   “We have mutual affinity”,

“He’s really genuine”,    “Because of his good character”,

“She’s very pretty”,        “He helped me when I was helpless”,

“He’s rich”,         “She’s brilliant, studious, so I became her friend”

Like this, I heard many as well told many reasons.

I would like to share a story of two people how they became friends.

It’s a story of two friends who studied in the same college, stayed in the same hostel, later shared their room.

Wait ! Wait !

Before proceeding further, lets give a name for our heroes - Rohith and Parasuram. Nice name, isn't ?

Back to the story, both hadn’t talked much, but used to share a friendly smile whenever they pass over each other.

One evening, while playing cricket, Parasuram received a call. He attended, it was Rohith in the other side. Rohith asked Parasuram, “Shall we go out for dinner ?", initially Parasuram was confused and reluctant, after hearing the word "I’ll sponsor” from Rohith, he nodded positively.  Who would say no, when a scapegoat comes our way and ask us to chop down its head.

Parasuram responded “I’ll be back in 30 minutes, after that we can go”. They hanged the call. Parasuram was surprised by the call.

Exactly an hour later, they went outside to have dinner. Following the dinner, they talked about their Family, School life, College life, Cinema, Foods, Hotels, Politics, friends and got to know each other. Sitting in front of their hostel, they kept talking for more than an hour. Despite all the talking, Parasuram wanted to know why Rohith asked him a man-date.  

Once they planned to go inside the hostel, Parasuram shot his question “Rohith, Why from no where, you asked me to come out with you ?”.

Rohith smiled and said “I liked the way you eat”.

Parasuram was like “Eek !”, asked “What are you saying?”

“I often notice you in mess, you’ll take food limitedly, eat cleanly and mostly never waste food”

Parasuram was spell-bounded and he had never heard such a reason in his life time.

From that day, it became a mandatory that Rohith have to sponsor Parasuram, whenever they go out for a man-date.

We used to do few things without knowing those are good,  definitely one day or another we’ll reap for those good deeds, like Parasuram.

Fun apart, Rohith always inspires Parasuram to be a good friend.

That’s the end of the story of never ending friendship.

Be an inspiring person, if not to society at least to your friend. This bond will help us to build an inspiring surrounding.

TN Election 2016 - Post Report

Yesterday at 7 am, the election booths were filled with middle aged people, who were enthusiastic as ever, to cast their vote to their favorite party. At 9 am, it was reported that 18% votes had been polled. Many thought to have record percentage in polling. But nature had different ideas as it started pouring. The day ended with nearly 74% polling. Though it is 4.5 % less than previous election, in terms of Voters turnout it’s a new record.

In 2011, the polling percentage was 78.5% in 4.71 Crore people i.e. 3.6 Cr people had voted. This time, 74% in 5.82 Crore i.e. 4.3 Cr people have voted. Clearly, indicates votes of new electors will be the key.

This morning, most of the people while going for their morning seemed to discuss about yesterday’s election and started their prediction, yet the election have to be conducted in two more constituencies.  Generally in TN assembly elections maximum of three alliances would fight for the throne. But this time, it is different, six coalitions have been formed. But this doesn’t seem to change the outlook of people. They remember two symbols – Rising Sun and Two Leaves. Majority of the people wants either DMK or ADMK to throne, not any other party. They were mentally fixed to give power to both parties alternatively. They were fixed with ideologies, and doesn’t want to change unless a miracle happens. They don’t have belief with the alliances which formed just for the sake of elections. People feel that these parties can't be in coalitions for long term. Only if the newly formed fronts prove them wrong by continuing their alliance even after the elections, there will be chances for change in power in the future elections.

Everyone who watched the video of RJ Balaji where he questioned few youngsters were dumbstruck, when a girl said “Either Mukherjee or Modi will be the President of India”. The word Pathetic is an understatement. Chaffing them is of no use. They are the mere representatives of five out of ten youngsters out there. Their reply would be like they are not interested in Politics, how come one could live in a place with out knowing about it? When people can remember Indian cricket squad, why can’t the Cabinet Ministers of India ?  Each individual have to take the responsibility and know about Politics, just a basic.

Will DMK recapture the power or AMDK continue its possession?

A day to go to know the results, anything may happen. How the vote shared will determine the result in each constituencies.  Each front alleged that there is a huge possibility for their party to claim the throne. If any other parties won more seat than expected, then we are going to witness the minority government once again after 2006. All we need is a government, not just for caring people also to empower their life.

Think before you ...... VOTE

This season is going to end. No, No, not summer! the election season!. Many people couldn’t sleep during afternoon times in home, as vehicles with speakers coming and announcing their Party’s welfare schemes continuously. Everything is coming to end and people can have a peaceful sleep in a week.

Before that one responsibility is awaiting, it is voting. Being the electors we have the responsibility to select the right candidate. Most of the elders would vote for their favorite party. Most of the first time voters will listen to their parents and cast their vote. Keeping their notions aside, people should vote to the party which will do good for the people. If there is no such party, at least to the party which will act like doing good for the people. Fun apart, there are many things where people would give money to get their basic necessities. Election is the only time where money will be given to people to get their vote. It’s not just about pressing the button in E-Voting Machine, the growth of state/nation lies in it. Kindly don’t debt vote for sake of money. Understand the value of Vote and cast it to the Party which will do good for the people.

There is a speculation that, if NOTA gets more vote than Candidates re-election would happen. It’s absolute false. According to the Press note of Election Commission of India on NOTA “Even if the number of electors opting for NOTA option is more than number of votes polled by any of the candidates, the candidate who secures largest number of votes has to be declared elected.” So, going with NOTA is not the wise choice.

Small statistical data about 2011 TN assembly election, Total electors - 4.71 Cr and the number of electors who voted is 3.67 Cr. More than a crore, i.e., 22% of voters didn’t cast their vote.

Number of Electors in 2016 (age group wise)

21.05 lakh voters in the age group of 18-19,                  1.17 crore in 20-29 age,

1.39 crore in 30-39 age,                                                  1.24 crore in 40-49 age

87.32 lakh in 50-59 age,                                                  56.15 lakh in 60-69 age

26.58 lakh in 70-79 age,                                                  8.4 lakh above 80 years

Total electors - 5.82 Cr

This time number of electors is increased by 1 Cr. Votes of people in age group 18-29 (1.38 Cr) will decide the fate of this election, if at least 1 Cr in that age group cast their vote.

Expecting 100% voting and beating Tripura’s (in 2013 election) record of 93.57% voter turnout is idiotic. Even 85% of voter turnout will be good enough. Everyone must prepone or postpone their plans and cast their vote on May 16.
